We've pushed live a Wisephone update (v2.7.0) that includes:

• Backend enhancements and stability improvements

• Support for Google Messages on older Wisephones (A15s). Samsung is deprecating Samsung Messages. As part of this transition, we've released an update that installs and pins Google Messages on all Wisephone devices to ensure texting continues to work reliably going forward.To complete the transition:

  1. Open the Google Messages app.
  2. If prompted, set Google Messages as your default messaging app.
  3. You do not need to create a Google account to use Google Messages. Simply select “Continue as guest”.
  4. Your existing text messages should automatically appear in Google Messages after the app is opened and set as the default.

  This change is driven by Samsung's decision to phase out Samsung Messages and is not specific to Wisephone. Our goal is to ensure you continue to have a reliable messaging experience as Android evolves. If your messages don't appear after opening Google Messages or you run into any issues during the transition, simply reply to this email and we'll be happy to help. Our Wisephone Portal authentication partner is experiencing some issues with their platform, which is preventing users from logging in to the Wisephone Portal. We’ll provide an update as soon as it’s fixed.

We’ve released a new product update (v2.6.3) to improve your Wisephone experience:

Notification Dots

We’ve added notification dots for the Phone and Message apps, making it easier to spot missed calls and new messages at a glance as soon as this feature is enabled. The feature is gated behind a feature flag which is accessible from the Settings menu (under Modern Font and Contacts Search).

Tool Drawer Access Directly From Device

In response to your feedback, we've added an optional feature flag in the Wisephone Portal to restore Tool Drawer access directly on your device. You can now choose between greater app control or easier access, based on your preference.

UX Improvements

We've enhanced the Wisephone Portal with smoother sign-in and onboarding, improving your initial experience.
